Brookdale
Baptist Church, incorporated on June 5, 1894, began as a
mission church of First Baptist Church of Bloomfield, N.J.
From its tiny beginning, the church progressed steadily
over the years, growing out of two church buildings into
its present facility. Brookdale's rich history includes
sending out many of its own members as missionaries and
pastors around the globe.
Brookdale offers a wide variety of ministries including weekly worship
- with all manner of instruments and voices - and nursery for infants
and toddlers. We have multiple weekly opportunities for group prayer
and participate monthly in Essex County Cry for Awakening prayer and
worship meetings. Our congregation meets several times a year for
Body Life meetings, Family Life meetings and summer outdoor picnics.
Weekly ministries are geared specifically to men (including a monthly
men's fellowship breakfast), women (including a weekly ladies prayer
meeting and monthly JOY luncheon), children (Kidszone, and KidzKlub
meetings and summer vacation Bible school), youth ministry (OASIS Teen
Bible Club and frequent special events including Saturday Night Live
events), college age adults (Genesis fellowship and frequent
partnerships with Montclair State University's Intervarsity Fellowship).
Growth in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus
is encouraged at weekly Marketplace for all ages. Our resource center
holds numerous, books, tapes, and DVD's for both learning and just
plain fun!
The church campus is home to Foundations Prep School /
Brookdale Christian Academy, serving parents of children day care
age through kindergarten.
Brookdale Baptist Church preaches
and teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
believing that the inerrant Scriptures are as relevant and
practical today as they were when first penned by the Biblical
writers.
Brookdale Baptist Church, 15 miles from New
York City, reflects the cultural and ethnic diversity of the New York
metropolitan area and our surrounding neighborhoods. If you are seeking
a warm, friendly church home, we welcome you in the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
