Pastor of Worship & Youth Love Saquing

Pastor Love Saquing has been the Pastor of Worship and Youth at Brookdale since February 1, 2002. He previously served as an Associate Pastor at Edgewater Baptist Church, Chicago, IL, overseeing the worship and youth programs (June 1999-January 2002). He also served solely as a youth pastor (1996-1999) and as a ministry intern (1994-1995) at Edgewater Baptist Church.

Pastor Love's formal training for ministry was completed at the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL, from 1990-1994 where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree as a Pastoral major. He then went on to seminary from 1996-1999 at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield. IL, where he received his Master of Divinity Degree.

After being born in Newark, New Jersey in 1972, Pastor Love's family moved to Bloomfield, where he was raised and where his family attended nearby Brookdale Baptist Church all through his childhood and youth. He made a commitment to Jesus Christ when he was five years old by praying with his dad in their home. He later renewed his commitment to following Christ as a junior high student in the youth group.

Pastor Love and his wife, Cassandra, were married in May 1995. His wife, Cassandra, was raised in Michigan, and they met as students at the Moody Bible Institute. They currently have four young children: Ethan, Emma, Elizabeth, and Ezra.

In his free time, Pastor Love enjoys listening to and playing music (guitar, piano, trumpet, and percussion), playing basketball, volleyball, tennis, and running, and spending quality time with his beautiful family.

The prayer of Pastor Love is that Brookdale Baptist Church will be able to have a growing vision of reaching all the types of people who live in the surrounding community. His hope is that Brookdale may be a place where people from various ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds can come and experience the reality of who God is through his Son, Jesus Christ.
